Just when I thought I was up...

No pic or links with this post I'm afraid. Had a bad day yesterday. Was just leaving the house with the family when four guys with guns jumped us and forced us back inside. They tied up the whole family and then ransacked the place. We've lost all our electronics, jewellery and a lot of cash. Where I live it's called a home invasion and it's been on the rise recently. It's actually the second time it's happened to me. It's certainly not much fun having a pistol held to the back of your head and being tied hand and foot. Luckily no one was hurt but the whole family is pretty shaken up. As a coincidence I've lost my laptop with all my data for the blog. Strangely they didn't take my main hard drive with all my music but it's going to be a few weeks at least before I can post anything new. I'm using a borrowed iPhone to write this. Anyway, please bear with me as I try to get back online.

  3. Good grief. I'm pleased that none of you or your family were hurt. Where in the world do you live?

I've only recently come across your blog as I have tried to fill the holes in my Uncut collection. I started buying the magazine intermittently in '99 then subscribed in about 2001 and the CDs have led to some great discoveries.

I hope you recover from this incident quickly. Thank you for your great blog. Take care.

    1. Yeah it was the weekend before we left. We're back now picking up the pieces. I still don't have reliable internet set up in the house. Luckily the one hard drive they left had ALL of my music on it. A small victory that has really helped me to adjust. It'll be about a week before I can post anything new. A lot of people have reached out and sent me links to some of the older missing albums I was looking for which has been really nice. So expect to see some gaps filled. Once I'm back up it's full steam ahead as I'm totally reenergized to move this blog forward again.

    1. Thanks, it was definitely a low point for the year. I'm slowly rebuilding my music files and moving forward with the blog. Definitely appreciate the offer of the music. Might have to take you up on that some day. Thanks also for the interest in the blog. These Uncut comps were integral in shaping my musical tastes so it would be a shame if they were lost over time.
